Our Fees

Below you will find a summary of our common flat-rate fees. If the work you are looking for is not listed below, it will be completed at our standard hourly rate of $350. If you would like a non-binding estimate of how many hours a project will take, we can provide one after our initial consultation.

All fee quotes do not include GST or disbursements (such as government filing fees, land titles fees, courier fees, etc.) unless otherwise stated.

Unlike many other firms, Lawrence Law does not charge for photocopying, printing, or other administrative functions.

Business Law

Alberta Incorporation

Numbered Company: $900

Named Company: $950

All incorporation packages are all inclusive including the Alberta government fee and the creation of a minute book with all necessary corporate documents.

Incorporations in other jurisdictions may vary in price based on the difference in government fee.

Other Business Services

Corporate maintenance: $260 / year

This includes the filing of annual returns, acting as registered office, and drafting corporate resolutions including up to 1 dividend resolution.

Shareholder Agreement: $1,500, or $1,250 if done at the time of incorporation.

This includes a guided discussion with all shareholders, all drafts and revisions, and the necessary documents to implement it.

Short-Form Amalgamation: $600

Real Estate

Residential Purchase / Refinance

Purchase with mortgage: $950

Purchase without mortgage: $750

Refinance: $650

Quoted prices are for legal services only and do not include disbursements. Land titles will charge a fee based on the value of the property purchased and the value of the mortgage being registered. For a more accurate quote given your circumstances, please contact us.

If we act for both the purchaser and the seller, each party will receive a $100 discount from their fees.

Residential Sale

Residential sale: $800

Quoted prices are for legal services only and do not include disbursements. If you are selling a condo, there may be a substantial charge from your condo’s property manager in order to prepare an estoppel certificate for the sale.

If we act for both the purchaser and the seller, each party will receive a $100 discount from their fees.


Lease review (no drafting): $400

All other commercial real estate work is billed at an hourly rate due to the specific nature of each deal.

Additional Fees

The following additional fees may apply to your transaction:

Condo document review: $300

Rush Fee (1 week before closing or less): $100

If you do not have a realtor for the transaction, there may be additional work billed at an hourly rate for the drafting of contracts or other work normally performed by the realtor.

Prices quoted above are for standard estate planning services. Some estates may require advanced planning including specialized trusts for children or blended families. Your lawyer will inform you if this extra work is required, and it will be billed at our hourly rate.

Updates to previously created documents will be done at our hourly rate to reflect the complexity of the work required.


Estate Administration

Obtaining Grant of Probate or Administration: $1,500

Core Legal Services*:    Calculate the total below. The estimated fee will update once the total value of the assets of the estate is inserted. 

 * Core legal services includes the general steps required to obtain a grant of probate and administer an estate and are defined in the Surrogate Act.  For more information, click here.

All non-core legal services (including the costs of selling real estate or businesses or the cost of resolving disputes) will be billed at our standard rates above
